Description

With this four and a half hour adventure trip you will get to explore deeper into the hidden world of the Storms River gorge with long, bottomless pools, deep caves and ancient forests with nothing but the quiet noises of nature around you.

We will equip you with a uniquely designed Anvil which is a combination of the kayak and lilo. They are easy to paddle but you do need to be fit and strong be able to carry the Anvils over rocks, but the beauty is well worth the hard work!

We start at our shop just above the small harbour inside the National Park, here you will meet your guides and receive all your gear. Please leave valuables in your vehicle, we do provide crates to store change of clothes. After a briefing we depart with two experienced guides leading the trip. We starts with a hike through the forest and over the famous suspension bridge where our Anvils will be waiting for us.

With this experience you will get to see more of the Storms River Gorge and enjoy the beautiful ravine with its awe experience and scenery that you will never forget.

Itinerary

  • Forest hike to the suspension bridge. Walk to the Storms River Gorge for 20min through beautiful forest and over the famous Suspension Bridge that crosses the ocean.

  • Explore the Storms River gorge. Kayak up the Storms River Gorge under the Suspension Bridge into the narrow Storms River Gorge. Switch over to our unique lilo’s and relax while you float deeper into the gorge and marvel at the beautiful scenery around you. Switch over from our lilo’s to our Anvil boats, equipped with fins you are able to paddle deeper into the gorge to one of the most beautiful sections of the famous Storms River Gorge.

  • Jump from the cliffs. On the trip back, we add a healthy dose of adrenaline where you will be given the exhilarating opportunity to leap off the overhanging cliff walls of the gorge into deep pools. This offers not only a good test of your bravery but also some good occasions for laughter (or nervous giggling), friendly encouragement (or daring) and one-of-a-kind photo opportunities (because you will need to brag to your buddies at home!). Although cliff jumping is not compulsory – you can simply enjoy the spectacle as you leisurely float on the long pools below – we do recommend not missing out on the thrill!

We had an amazing time with our guides Nico, Marshall and Chicken. They were caring and ensured we were safe at all times. We enjoyed every moment especially seeing the sting rays below us. Thank you for sharing your knowledge about the environment as well as being friendly. You guys are the best!

Amazing experience! We did the 2.5 hours kajak and lilo. Going up Storms River is just beautiful and on top of that the guides make it a fun, entertaining and also interesting tour by sharing interesting facts and doing some "challenges" for those who want some "more" adventure.

Very cool adventure through the Tsitsikamma river valley. Very nice guides caring all the time about your safety. You need to be a bit physical strong to have a full joy of the tour and with bad weather conditions I definitely recommend a wetsuit and shoes to borrow. Bring a towel. For the price is really a nice adventure in the water and the scenery is beautiful! Definitely to recommend !

Great trip to spent some time in the water albeit very short. We were only informed that morning that our day trip was cancelled due to high water levels but they did offer the half day trip instead which was great. It only left me wondering why they did not warn us instead for this possibility since they told me they weren’t able to do de day tour for two weeks already due to the high level. Could have avoided the rush and stress we experienced that morning.

What an amazing experience! Highly recommend to anyone who wants to experience something unique and breathtaking. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Dressing rooms are not the best but does the job.
